Hardy Exotics is at the heart of exotic gardening in the UK. We have developed a unique collection of exotic looking plants most of which are propagated and grown on site.
You can create an exotic looking garden almost anywhere in the country. Plenty of friendly advice is on hand to help you choose the plants suitable for your garden climate.
Hardy Exotics has a unique and unrivalled collection of over 1,500 species of plants ideal for exotic gardening. They have been gathered as seeds and cuttings and then developed in our nursery in Cornwall over the last thirty years. These include: Palms, Bananas, Canna and Ginger Lilies, Agaves, Gunnera, Echiums, Agapanthus, Bamboos, Grasses, Succulents, Voodoo Lilies, Exotic Trees, Shrubs, Climbers and hundreds more to turn your garden into an "Earthly Paradise"
We are open throughout the year
At Hardy Exotics, due to customer demand we are open all the year. For most of the year we are open
seven days from 10am to 5pm.
In the winter months, November to February, due to the diminishing light, we are open from
Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.
We deliver throughout the UK & Eire
We deliver throughout the United Kingdom & Eire, via our carrier service directly to your front door
Plants will arrive with you 24 hours after being collected from the nursery.

When visiting Hardy Exotics, you will enjoy a totally unique experience. Our nursery nestles below huge banks planted out with palms, succulents, puyas, gunnera, and all sorts of dramatic plants, too numerous to mention. Our symbol guide is to assist you in choosing the right plants for your own garden.
Hardy-ness Zones
We are bursting at the seams with rare, unusual, weird and wonderful species. To help you choose plants suitable for your area of the country we have developed a zoning system. The British Isles is divided into eight zones and every plant on our list is allotted to the zones it can reasonably be expected to grow in.

Finding us
The A30 is a fast moving road when you enter Whitecross. Travelling west we are the next village after Canon's Town. If travelling east, say from Penzance, we are just after Crowlas.

Ordering with Us...
To place an order with us, please use our Hardy Exotics order form opposite.
Our minimum order value is £30.00 excluding carriage. We find that a small group of plants travels much better than a single pot, unless it is a large specimen.
We will not substitute plants of our own choice if some of your order is not available. However if you wish to list any alternatives to cover that eventuality, please do.
Delivery: All our plants are sent via our 24 hour carrier service.
If you are not going to be at home to receive the plants please advise a safe alternative to leave the boxes e.g.: behind the side gate or with next door neighbour.
Cost of carriage and packing: The normal charge for packing & carriage is £25.00 for the first 10 kilos - usually 6 plants in 2-3 litre pots. If you need help working out the carriage please contact us and we will do it for you.
Payment: Payment by credit/ debit card.

If required we can provide an on-site consultation service with our experienced staff advising on planting plans and layouts.
We provide a hire service for events, exhibitions, campaigns and photo shoots. This varies from packing and despatching our exotic plants to the client location, through to our staff attending and setting up the plants ready for presentation.

Consultancy...
Due to customer demand, we have now launched an on-site consultancy service.
This would involve one of our experienced team, attending your garden to offer advice and a planting plan, suitable for the local conditions and climate of your garden.
This service is costed on your location and the amount of time involved, message here to request more details and a brief summary of your idea.

We have worked with a large number of prestigious clients. These include: Kew Gardens; Hilliers; Glyndebourne; Eltham Palace; Trinity College, Cambridge; the Botanic Gardens at Oxford, Ventnor and the Moscow’s Main Garden; the Royal Parks; numerous NT properties and of course, Dublin, Edinburgh and London Zoos. We have worked with London Zoo, for at least 10 years, this year we sent plants for the Gibbon exhibit and last year for the Asian Tigers.
We also supply exotic plants for various film shots, product launches and functions, including weddings.
